This list is intended to be a general guide to camps appropriate for children on the autism spectrum. We encourage xMinds members to provide their feedback about their experiences with these camps on our Google Group.  Please verify actual session dates, requirements, and costs with the individual camps.

Virtual Secret Agent Academy Summer Program

Some children and families are really missing socialization during this time of separation.  We are offering fun and skill-centered virtual summer camps for children ages 7-11.  This is a summer camp that helps kids become calm and confident socially. The Secret Agent Academy Summer Program is based on the curriculum of the Secret Agent Society (SAS), an evidence-based intervention for children ages 8-12 with social & emotional challenges.

Social Connections Group


Does your teen need opportunities to connect with others socially during this time of social distancing? Is your teen feeling lonely? Would your teen thrive if given the opportunity to make connections with peers? Join our Social Connections for Teens Group, a 5-week virtual program, an opportunity for your teen to socialize and obtain support during this challenging time. A free parent session will be offered to help you be there for your teen too! 


Take Five! Summer Intensives For ages 18 and up, with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism. You'll focus on character development or musical theater fundamentals for five consecutive days.

Comedy for All

Join us as we explore the world of comedy! You’ll create your own comedy monologue, learn how to write a joke, develop your stand-up character, and study the different forms of physical comedy to use in your act.

Script Writing

Students will have the opportunity to learn about the playwriting format and flex their artistic chops using weekly writing prompts. Class time will be divided between prompt writing, discussion, and scene reading. Inspired by classes taught by New York playwright and author Jessica Dickey.

Story Time Goes Virtual

Social learning will be explored through stories, art, drama, and pretend play. This fun-filled program will introduce early learners to the core concepts of Social Thinking. (Ages 4-7)

Not able to go on the vacation you planned this year? Allow us to travel virtually with your child to continue to grow their social awareness and collaborative skills this summer! Based on the TV show Amazing Race, we will (virtually) travel to places near and far. This group will focus on team-building experiences.  (Ages 8-12)

The B Social Camp targets children ages 4–10. Fitness for Health pediatric fitness specialists in collaboration with the Center for Communication and Learning speech and language therapists will provide an integrated movement and social cognitive thinking program for your children. This program will integrate Michelle Garcia Winner’s Social Thinking® concepts with motor activities. These will be introduced in a fun and motivating way encouraging participants to explore and improve their social cognition and motor development. Activities will focus on developing your child’s abilities in the areas of Cooperation, Problem Solving, Being a Part of a Group, Fitness Fun, and Conversational Skills.

Virtual Summer of Service (Virtual SOS)

Ages: Middle and High Schoolers of all abilities

The goal of camp is to allow teens of all abilities to spend time this summer making the world a better place. Together we’ll learn about relevant social responsibility issues that reflect our very own communities, and work with nonprofits to give back. Campers will earn 17.5 SSL hours per week.  Activities will include: 

  • Learning about local food banks and hosting your own neighborhood food drive. 
  • Participating in the virtual Ride for the Living, a global fitness initiative in partnership with JCC Krakow (Poland). 
  • Learning actions to take to promote racial justice. 
  • Learning about the work of Jewish Foundation for Group Homes, meeting group home residents, and playing virtual bingo with the residents. 
  • Sending thank you notes to health care works and essential personnel. 
  • And so much more!

Fitness for Health*

Fitness for Health is offering two virtual social and movement groups for teens and for young adults where they will combine movement and communication skills.

Teen Group for ages 12-15.  Parents will be participants aiding in the facilitation of the group as well as learning the social building blocks with their child.

Cost: $125/session (Overall cost for 6 sessions $750)

Young Adult Group for ages 19-24.  No parent participation needed.

Cost:  $100/session (Overall cost for 6 sessions $600)

MoCo Movement Center*

Private and Group Interactive Virtual Sessions

Moco Movement is offering a variety of classes through their interactive platform. In each session, your child, their class leader, and the other children in the class will be able to see, hear, and interact with each other. This will provide a safe, supported way for your child to get some social time while also engaging their brains and bodies in a guided, skill-building activity.  Offerings are available for all ages and for many interests. 

Sports Plus

Sports Plus is an award winning non-profit organization that offers programs designed for participants ages 5-15 with mild to moderate autism and other developmental disabilities who are able to follow simple directions.  

The Sports Plus Summer 2020 Experience will include: 2 ½ hours of programming per day, a dynamic program that will feature both high energy fitness and other activities, and a half-hour social at the end of the day.

Ages 3-5. Little Friends Language & Learning Camp is geared toward preschool aged children to enhance early literacy skills while developing communication, social interaction and play skills.

Ages 5-10. Combining the best of The TLC's speech-language and occupational therapy programs, this year’s summer camp program focuses on gross motor, sensory processing, communication, and social interaction skills.

Riding Together Summer Camp -- IN PERSON

Riding Together Camp provides a fun and interactive environment to work on social skills development. By promoting the care for and engagement with horses, this camp fosters self-confidence, communication, and social skills in a unique setting.  Ages 5th-12th graders.  Cost: $750/week.  Two sessions starting Aug. 10 and August 17;  9am-3pm each day.
