Parents and families play an important role in how well children do in school and in the community. They are the first agents at identifying children’s strengths and concerns, opening doors to support and services and ensuring that those doors remain open to meet their children’s needs. The Maryland Center for Developmental Disabilities (MCDD) at Kennedy Krieger Institute invites parents and caregivers of school age children to participate in this free parent workshop!

This workshop is led by Dr. Mirian Ofonedu, Ph.D, LCSW-C, the Director of Training at the Maryland Center for Developmental Disabilities. She is Maryland’s first Master Trainer for the ACT Raising Safe Kids, a program developed and sponsored by the American Psychological Association. Dr. Ofonedu holds an Associate Faculty position at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, Department of Mental Health and at the University of Maryland Baltimore Graduate School and an Adjunct Faculty position at the University of Maryland School of Social Work.
