Time management, organization, and task initiation are all part of Executive Function Skills ~ and along with other related study strategies are vital to success academically and in daily life. For many students, distance learning, a hybrid model, or in-person learning during the pandemic has further taxed these skills. This presentation is geared towards helping parents and caregivers help their children and adolescents to enhance their executive function skills to thrive in life during the continued pandemic and beyond.

The speaker, Carey Heller, Psy.D. Dr. Heller. is a licensed psychologist and founding partner at The Heller Psychology Group, LLC in Bethesda, Maryland. He specializes in the evaluation and treatment of ADHD/executive function issues and co-occurring disorders. More specifically, Dr. Heller provides formal testing to diagnose ADHD/executive function issues, learning disorders, and related items. In addition, he conducts psychotherapy and ADHD/executive function coaching services, often blending the two. Dr. Heller also runs an executive functioning boot camp. As a result, he is able to assist children, teens, and adults in improving their time management, organizational, and related study skills as well as in enhancing self-regulation, minimizing anxiety, and overall being able to function more efficiently in life. During the Covid-19 pandemic, all services are being provided virtually via telehealth. In addition to his work with the practice, Dr. Heller serves on the board of the Montgomery County chapter of Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD) as the chapter coordinator, as well as on the board of Washington Independent Services For Educational Resources (WISER). Additionally, he is a national topic expert contributor on ADHD for goodtherapy.org. Furthermore, Dr. Heller is the co-chair of CHADD’s Editorial Advisory Board.
