Guiding the Journey: Preparing for Life after High School

Parents' Place of Maryland 

Location: Virtual

Cost: Free

Registration: Apply here by February 16. Applicants notified of acceptance February 22. 

Dates: Mandatory orientation March 2. Training will take place 10 AM to 12 PM on: March 20, March 27, April 10, and April 17.

Child age: For parents or guardians of youth (ages 14 to 21) who have an  IEP or 504 plan.

The transition from school to adulthood for youth with special needs can be challenging. It can be difficult to know where to begin or what the priorities should be. This FREE four session training, which includes the use of Lifecourse Tools, will help parents navigate this process and develop a unique Transition Action Plan for/with their youth.

During this training, parents will...

  • Gain an understanding of their changing role
  • Complete homework individualized to their youth
  • Develop a customized Transition Action Plan
