Cost: $140 per teen + $140 per caregiver session + one time intake fee

PEERS for Adolescents is a 14-week evidenced based program for middle and high school aged teens who are interested in learning skills to help make and keep friends.  Each 90 minute group includes a didactic lesson and opportunities for the teens to practice the skills taught.  

Caregivers attend separate sessions at the same time and learn how to be a social coach for their teen.  Some of the weekly topics include:

  • Using appropriate conversation skills
  • Using humor appropriately
  • Using electronic communication
  • Choosing appropriate friends
  • Entering and exiting conversations
  • Being a good host during get-togethers
  • Being a good sport
  • Handling arguments and disagreements
  • Changing a bad reputation
  • Handling rumors and gossip
  • Handling rejection, teasing, and bullying
