In our ever changing environment, neurodiversity has been thrown around as a catch-all phrase. But what is neurodiversity? More importantly, how do we create an inclusive and accepting environment for neurodiverse individuals. In this lunch and learn, participants will explore the intersectionality of neurodiversity, gender, race, and sexuality, and how to apply a social justice framework. We will also discuss a shifting paradigm of how we conceive of neurodiversity within a difference model rather than a deficit model. Neurodiversity can be a strength if we make room for it in our schools, workplaces, and personal relationships. Action steps will be provided for participants to integrate the information into their current personal, educational, and business practices.
