Training Ride for Bike to the Beach 2024

Interested in joining the xMinds bike group for a beautiful bike ride on a Sunday morning? Everyone is welcome!

We hope you will decide to join Team xMinds for our Bike to the Beach Fundraiser on Friday, August 2, but feel free to join us if even you can't!

Schedule of Rides:  

1.  Sunday, April 14 @ 9:00 AM at Ken Gar Palisades Park at 4140 Wexford Dr., Kensington, MD 20895 (off Beach Dr. between Wexford Dr. & Knowles Ave.). We'll have a 15-mile and a 20-mile ride option.  

2.  Sunday, April 28 @ 9:00 AM at Lake Needwood. This area is near the Shady Grove Metro station at the northern end of Rock Creek Regional Park. Cyclists should meet at the south-most parking lot in Lake Needwood. Google map coordinates are (39.114952, -77.127823). Note: If you are driving around, the minute you start going up the big hill at the end of the loop, you have gone too far. This is a 20-mile ride. 

3.  Saturday, May 11 @ 9:00 AM. Sligo Trail east to the Anacostia trail and then south, and back.  Starting point is Sligo Creek Parkway just east of Colesville in Silver Spring. 25-30 miles. 

4.  Sunday, May 19 @ 9:00 AM.  Shirlington to Vienna & back on W&OD Trail. 24 miles.

5.  Sunday, June 2 @ 9:00 AM. Mt. Vernon to National Harbor & back. 30 miles.

6.  Sunday, June 23 @ 9:00 AM. North Bethesda Metro to Downtown DC & back on Trolley Trail & Capital Crescent Trail. 35 miles.

7.  Sunday, July 14 @ 9:00 AM.  Shirlington to Herdon & back on W&OD Trail. 40 miles.

8.  Sunday, July 29 @ 9:00 AM.  Hains Point/East Potomac Park (taper ride). 21 miles.
