Unstuck and On Target: Improving Executive Function, On-Task and Flexible Behavior

Participants will explore how executive function impacts learning, behavior, and social success—particularly for students with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), anxiety, and other learning differences. Through real-world examples and interactive discussion, you will learn how Unstuck and On Target promotes cognitive flexibility, goal-directed behavior, and problem-solving using accessible, classroom-friendly strategies.

Participants will learn scripts and strategies to help students “get unstuck,” shift thinking, manage frustration, set goals and make plans.

Participants will:

• Gain an understanding of brain-based processes related to executive functioning
• Learn specific Unstuck and On Target scripts
• Practice and employ actionable strategies to support cognitive flexibility, goal-directed behavior, and problem-solving for students with diverse learning needs

1 Maryland Teacher clock hour (1 PDP) provided.
