This program is delivered through structured, play-based lessons that use stories and visual to explicitly teach social thinking skills. In the child group, participants will learn joint attention and group participation, perspective-taking, self-regulation and impulse control, flexible thinking and social problem-solving, emotional awareness and coping skills, and nonverbal communication.
In the required parent/caregiver group, participants will learn how to support their child in using social skills, become effective social coaches, incorporate skills their child is learning into everyday situations, maintain skills across time and setting, and having successful playdates.
