Is your autistic 12-19 year old looking for an opportunity to flex those creative muscles? xMinds and NeuroNest Art are collaborating on a fun, inclusive evening art class led by local artist Ash Ariel! Explore various art materials and work at your own pace, or take the optional guided workshop to create your very own Zine!

Ash Ariel is an artist, illustrator, community arts educator, and the founder of NeuroNest Art, an accessible arts studio and initiative for people of all ages and backgrounds. Rooted in community-centered practice, Ash creates inclusive creative spaces across the DMV — especially Montgomery County — for people who have found traditional art settings overwhelming or inaccessible, regardless of lived experience.

Through 1:1 sessions, classes, community collaborations, and group programs, Ash places particular focus on Neurodivergent youth, young adults, and their families, who often have fewer neuro-affirming creative programs and options as they get older. Ash holds a BFA in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design, is a LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities) fellow, and an EmpowerHer Spectrum Community Ambassador, bringing an interdisciplinary understanding of neurodevelopmental disability as well as lived experience to creative practice.
